Options are plentiful for the student in Houston. One possibility is the Art Institute of Houston, which offers programs in culinary arts and restaurant management. Houston Community College has programs in culinary arts and baking and pastry, while the University of Houston's Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management features bachelor and master degree programs in hospitality management.
Many culinary and hospitality programs require students to complete an internship or externship. The University of Houston's degree program in hospitality management places students in the on-campus Barron's Restaurant where they work as part of the International Dinner Series.
