Houston Graphic Design Schools & Programs

Many schools in Houston are well known for good programs in graphic design and related arts. The Bradford School offers a good graphic design program. The Art Institute of Houston offers programs in graphic design, media arts and visual communication. ITT Technical School has programs in design, communication design and visual communications. American InterContinental University also has programs in visual communication and fine arts.

The overall growth in Houston-area employment is projected to hit 18% by the year 2012. Art directors will see a 9% increase in employment and multi media artists, a 10% increase. Graphic designers will experience a growth rate close to the overall rate, 17%. For perspective, consider that there were approximately 2,850 graphic designers employed in the Houston area in 2004 according to government estimates, so even a slight increase in employment amounts to a lot of new jobs!

The economic climate is promising for graduates of graphic design programs.
